Charting the 2011/12 season in Football - Number 2

Over the last couple of weeks a lot has happened in football, with international matches, European matches, an irate chairman, irate managers and the continued disappearance of a former England striker.

Our second instalments feature a former England hero's lack of interest in the game he (rarely) plays, a couple of snipes at Steve Evans, a manager quickly assuming the characteristics of one of his peers, a mystery within FIFA, a fat journo and the contrasting likeability of Luis Suarez and Asamoah Gyan.

Following the successful Charting the Week in Football series last season, graphs and charts return to A United View as an occasional series throughout the season.

First up for the sarcasm laden treatment are two North London teams (and one wheeler dealer manager in particular), Gary Megson, Alan Shearer and Sky's technology.

As the domestic and European seasons come to an end, I leave you with a bumper selection of charts and graphs covering the stats that tell different stories for some teams' seasons, the anonymous footballer, an anonymous (and expensive) striker, rent-a-quote managers, Teflon Blatter, the truth about Premiership relegation, the composition of Scottish football and a conundrum for Jeff.

There may be a few intermittent Charting the Weeks over the Summer if the stories warrant it and if you the readers want it. Until then, enjoy these.......

Charting the Week (and a bit) in Football 4

Week 4 of Charting the Week in Football was slightly extended with the Easter break, but it was not short on stories. This week featuring mis-spent money by FIFA, misfiring strikers, former misfiring strikers, a social networking disaster, water bottle attrition, the continuing search for an Andy Gray replacement and relative qualities of team bus drivers.
